A TEMPORARY CITY
OF ART & WONDER

AfrikaBurn is the spectacular result of the creative expression of a community of volunteers who, once a year, gather in the Tankwa Karoo to build a city of art, theme camps, music, mutant vehicles and burning sculptures.

For nine years, I've been part of this incredible journey — from my first wide-eyed arrival to becoming a seasoned burner. Each year brings new art, new connections, and new memories etched into the desert dust.

BURN
"The desert does not forgive weakness. It reveals who you truly are. And in that revelation, you find your people."
